FIS Cross-Country World Cup has a free entry for fans

Vysočina Arena will welcome the world elite of cross-country skiers after 4 years. In a week there will be two races within the World Cup, which will present a complete Czech team and also all top stars of the cross-country skiing.

All fans can look forward to a very attractive show at traditional place of Czech winter sport. On Saturday 18th January women will race in 10km classic at 9:45 and at 11:15 men in 15km. One day later there are pursuits on programme. On Sunday women will start at 11:10 and men at 13:00.

Except the races of elite skiers all visitors of Vysočina Arena will be offered rich refreshments and attractive side events. The Arena itself will be opened for public on Saturday from 7:45 to 14:00 and on Sunday from 9:00 to 15:00. Fans can use two sectors near the trails with screens, live commentary and DJ show in order to enjoy the best of the races and stay updated about the current standings.

Right next to the stadium children will have fun on a track with amusing hurdles, they can try cross-country skiing and other sports. The track will be opened from 9:00 to 14:00 in both days and sport equipment is available to rent in the Arena.

During the whole weekend the fans can enter the stadium without any entrance fee. "Our aim is to create a fantastic support for our skiers. We’d also like to convince fans from the whole republic to come and watch this top-class world sport with expectation of extraordinary performances. Free entry is a logical step to fulfill our effort and the weather forecast for that weekend should also be positive," the PR agent of Czech Ski Union Tomáš Hasl said.
